You are invited to sit alongside some of Scotland’s best medical professionals as we discuss the role of ethics in medicine. Professor Kenneth Boyd, Professor of Medical Ethics at the University of Edinburgh will act as our guide alongside four exceptional physicians who face difficult ethical questions in their field of medicine.
This is your chance to speak with practising physicians, and GPs about their journey into their particular field of medicine. We will hear from physicians who spent their lives studying blood, bones, eyeballs, and the pancreas.
This lecture is an invitation to follow along the path of our medical professionals as they make hard decisions, personally and professionally, in the pursuit of science, health, and happiness.

Join us in the Great Hall at 11 Queen Street as we walk through the steps of applying to medical school. We will hear from medical school admissions staff, practising physicians, and recently graduated medical students as they detail the realities of applying, planning, and preparing for life as medical students.
This event is delivered in collaboration with Gairloch Museum.
The Highlands and Islands of Scotland hold a unique place in medical history. Particular challenges, such as geographical distance, famine and economic instability and shifting patterns of land ownership, combined to create precarious living circumstances for both physicians and patients.
