Tuanku Muhriz Fellowship – Malaysia to UK
The Tuanku Muhriz Travelling Fellowship (Malaysia to UK) offers physicians based in Malaysia the opportunity to experience medical practice within the UK National Health Service (NHS). Spending time across geriatric medicine, acute medicine, and palliative care, you will gain insight into UK clinical practice and develop a deeper understanding of the NHS healthcare system.
This Fellowship allows you to spend two weeks learning about medicine in a range of clinical settings in the United Kingdom. We have partnered with the College of Physicians of Malaysia (COPM) and the Malaysian Advanced Acute Internal Medicine and Ultrasound Society (MAAIMUS) to offer this opportunity.
Eligibility:
- A physician in higher level training or
- A physician consultant (within the first 10 years)
- Hold National Specialist Register (NSR) registration in the relevant subspecialty and be based in Malaysia
- Membership of the College of Physicians of Malaysia in good standing
- Membership of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (AMM)
- MRCP (UK) holder
Award:
Up to £3,000 to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence for the Fellowship.
The Fellowship will take place in the United Kingdom between 12 July 2026 and 2 August 2026.

Applications will be assessed by a committee comprising the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh Scholarship Committee, the College of Physicians of Malaysia, and the Malaysian Advanced Acute Internal Medicine and Ultrasound Society.
The successful candidate will be required to write a completion report upon their return to Malaysia. This may be published in a Malaysian journal and/or College News, and the Fellow may be invited to present their findings at the COPM Annual Scientific Congress and/or an RCPE Symposium. The report may also be used by the College and its partners to support publicity for the Award.
