The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh is seeking a Fellow in good standing to join its educational leadership team as Deputy Dean of Education (CPD).
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for physicians, both within RCPE and across the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians. Working closely with the Dean of Education, you will provide strategic oversight of CPD, contribute to national policy development, and help ensure the College remains responsive to developments in professional standards and medical education.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Providing expert advice and leadership on CPD matters.
Contributing to the development of Federation CPD policy and quality assurance processes.
Supporting CPD appeals and digital transformation initiatives.
Advising the Dean of Education on CPD developments and their impact on RCPE's educational strategy.
Representing RCPE on key national committees and working groups.
Supporting the delivery of the Federation CPD Scheme, including approval of educational events and management of complex CPD enquiries.
About You
Applicants should:
Be a practising physician and Fellow of RCPE in good standing.
Have a strong interest in continuing medical education and professional development.
Understand the links between CPD, appraisal, revalidation and professional standards.
Have experience as a Federation CPD Reviewer, including senior reviewer experience.
Demonstrate an interest in the wider work of the College.
