The College is pleased to be able to recognise excellence through a number of grants and scholarships. The College supports research in medicine, provides scholarships to further learning and training, and supports our global community of members to travel abroad and develop their skills.
Scholarships to undertake the RCPE/University of Edinburgh online MSc Internal Medicine or the MSc Critical Care are open to trainees in the UK and internationally.
The Brian Chapman Scholarship supports a delegate from any country listed as low to lower middle income by the World Bank to join the annual Edinburgh International Course on Medicine for the Older Adult.
Dr Myre Sim (1915-2009) was a renowned and published psychiatrist who assisted many individuals and organisations through his long and successful career, in addition to making a major contribution to the medical community. The Myre Sim Fund provides bursaries and research and travel grants.
This grant aims to encourage new research into, and engagement with, the College's library and archive collections. The recipient is expected to share their research with the public through a variety of channels.
The Tuanku Muhriz Fellowships offer physicians the opportunity to experience medical practice in Malaysia or the UK. Through two-week placements, Fellows gain first-hand insight into different healthcare systems and clinical settings. Applications for the Malaysia to UK Fellowship are currently open until February 2026.
