I am an internal medicine trainee in the North East of England. I am about to start my final year in training and plan to enter cardiology specialty training. During my medical training I joined my university’s research forum where engagement in research was encouraged. I learnt how to write literature reviews and carry out original research, through this I have mentored junior medical students to enable them to carry out research. I have attended courses that have improved my teaching skills and how to use feedback constructively.
