George Keppie Paterson graduated with honours from the University of Edinburgh in 1882. He was admitted to the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society in the same year and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1895. He remained active in the Society and served as Vice-President from 1913 to 1914. He worked for the Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society and for fifty years acted as Consulting Obstetrician at the Livingstone Dispensary in the Cowgate. In 1916 he registered with the Scottish Medical Service Emergency Committee. Later in life he served as Conductor of the Edinburgh Medical Mission Choir and Orchestra, which performed at the British Medical Association Hall in Edinburgh in 1932. He died in 1942.

George Minto Johnston was born circa 1858 and graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 1884. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1894 and was elected a Fellow in 1895. He lived and worked in Leith as a general practitioner and served as Panel Doctor and Medical Officer to the Leith Parish Council. In 1916 he registered under the First World War emergency medical recruitment scheme.

William Rutherford was born in Cookstown, Ireland, in 1865. He trained at Queen's University of Ireland, winning several scholarships and prizes in medicine, surgery, midwifery, and medical jurisprudence. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1887 and was elected a Fellow in 1891. He practised for almost forty years in Ballinasloe, where he was active in local affairs and advocated for the introduction of a modern water supply. He served as Visiting and Consulting Physician to the Ballinasloe District Asylum and as Medical Officer to the Royal Irish Constabulary. He died in Ballinasloe in 1911.

Sir John Macpherson was born in Dores, Inverness-shire, in 1857. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1882 and became Assistant Physician at the Royal Edinburgh Asylum. He was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1890 and elected a Fellow in 1891. From 1889 to 1898 he was Superintendent of the Stirling District Asylum at Larbert, later known as Bellsdyke Hospital. He subsequently served as Commissioner of Lunacy for Scotland until 1921 and worked on several medical boards concerned with former servicemen. He was knighted in 1922 and later that year became the first Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sydney. He returned to Britain in 1926 and retired in Somerset.

William Joseph Kelson Millard was born circa 1834. He obtained a Licentiate in Midwifery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1855 and graduated MD from the University of St Andrews in 1876. He was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1876 and elected a Fellow in 1892. During his career he practised in Tangiers, London, Brighton, Bristol, and Cheltenham. He died in 1920.

Henry Francis Elliot studied at the University of Edinburgh and the Devon and Exeter Hospital and held posts as Resident Physician at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and House Surgeon at the Chichester Infirmary. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1875, a Member in 1879, and was elected a Fellow in 1892. He was initially based at Cliffe House, Ruyton XI Towns, and later practised in Snaresbrook, east London, where he served as Surgeon to the Wanstead Infant Orphan Asylum. He was a Fellow of the British Gynaecological Society and a member of the British Medical Association and the Medical Officers of Schools Association.

Andrew Douglas Ramsay Thomson was born circa 1852, the son of Dr L R Thomson of Dalkeith. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1876, a Member in 1882, and a Fellow in 1892. He was also a Fellow of the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society. He practised in Musselburgh as a general practitioner, working with his son Lawrence Ramsay Thomson, and served as Medical Officer to Loretto School and Inveresk parish. He was a member of Musselburgh Town Council for several years and advocated for the establishment of a fever hospital. He died in 1926.

Albert Charles Butler-Smythe was born in Dublin in 1852. His father, William Smythe, was a naval officer, and his maternal grandfather, Charles Butler, was a medical practitioner. He studied in Dublin and Edinburgh and became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1876, a Member in 1882, and a Fellow in 1892. He held several hospital appointments, including Surgeon to the St George Hanover Square Dispensary, the Grosvenor Hospital for Women and Children, and the Samaritan Free Hospital for Women and Children, where he worked for over fifty years and served on the management committee. He published articles on obstetrics and gynaecology in The Lancet and other medical journals. He received an MBE in the 1918 Birthday Honours and died in 1936.

Archibald Home Douglas was born in Edinburgh, the son of accountant Christopher Home Douglas. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a ChM in 1887 and was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1891, becoming a Fellow in 1892. He practised in Edinburgh until the early 1890s, after which he lived in France between 1893 and 1896 and obtained a medical diploma in Paris. He subsequently practised in Nice for almost twenty years. Following the death of his wife circa 1922, he retired to Australia, where he died in 1924.

Sir Norman Purvis Walker was born in Fife in 1862 and graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1888. He served as Resident Physician at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh before establishing a private practice in Cumberland. He later undertook specialist training in dermatology in Vienna, Prague, and Hamburg. On returning to Edinburgh, he was appointed Assistant Physician to the Skin Department of the Royal Infirmary, a post he held from 1892 to 1906. From 1906 to 1924 he managed the skin wards and lectured in dermatology at the University of Edinburgh. He died in Balerno in 1942.
