Andrew Douglas Ramsay Thomson

Andrew Douglas Ramsay Thomson was born circa 1852, the son of Dr L R Thomson of Dalkeith. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1876, a Member in 1882, and a Fellow in 1892. He was also a Fellow of the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society. He practised in Musselburgh as a general practitioner, working with his son Lawrence Ramsay Thomson, and served as Medical Officer to Loretto School and Inveresk parish. He was a member of Musselburgh Town Council for several years and advocated for the establishment of a fever hospital. He died in 1926.
