Henry Cecil Gurney received his medical degree from the University of Pisa on 2 July 1845. After ill health during his studies at St Thomas' Hospital, he practised at Nice, chiefly during the winter seasons. Gurney became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 1 November 1853 and died on 13 January 1879.

Alexander Ziegler was a general practitioner and obstetrician practising at 30 Buccleuch Place, Edinburgh. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1816 and assisted James Young Simpson in 1847 during one of the earliest uses of ether anaesthesia in obstetric surgery.

John Scott received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh on 1 August 1836. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1859 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 7 February 1854.

John Henry Walker received his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen on 16 April 1853. He served as medical officer at Herningham House Lunatic Asylum, Leamington, and inspector of recruits for the Tunbridge Self-Supporting Dispensary. Walker became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 2 March 1854.

Courtland Skinner Shaw received his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen on 16 April 1853 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 2 May 1854. He was also a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and served as a magistrate and deputy lieutenant for Pembrokeshire.

Charles Wilson received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh on 1 August 1827 and acted as honorary consulting physician to the Kelso Dispensary. He published on croup and pharmaceutical weights and measures and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 6 February 1855.

James Brands Allan received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh on 1 August 1838 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 6 February 1855. He was also a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of London and authored 'Observations on the Predominant Diseases of the African Islands'.

Thomas Gibson received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow on 25 April 1827 and practised as a physician in Inverchaolain, Rothesay. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 1 May 1855 and died on 17 November 1862.

William James Martin received his medical degree from the University of St Andrews on 14 April 1855 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 15 May 1855. He was also a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.

Thomas Prichard received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow on 24 April 1844. He served as resident physician to the Abingdon Abbey Retreat, a private asylum near Northampton, and was formerly medical superintendent of the Glasgow Royal Asylum for Lunatics. In 1847, he published 'Statistical reports of the cases of insanity treated in the public asylums of Scotland during 1845-46' in the Edinburgh Medical and Surgical Journal. Prichard became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 10 July 1855 and was a member of the Glasgow Medico-Chirurgical Society.
