Candidate statement

I am a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist in NHS Fife, and I have had the privilege of serving as a council member for this Constituency since 2023.

My time on the Council has given me valuable insight into the workings of the College and its pivotal role in shaping health policy, education, examinations, and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). It has provided an opportunity to contribute to discussions affecting physicians and patients across UK to better understand the challenges facing our profession and the wider healthcare system.

I am seeking re-election to build on this experience, while continuing to bring new ideas and perspectives to the Council. Having served a term with the Council, I can contribute with an understanding of the College’s work and processes, while continuing to challenge, develop, and improve how we respond to the changing needs to physicians and patients.

If elected I would be honoured to continue serving the College and representing my colleagues for a second term in this time of rapid change within our profession.
