The Evening Medical Updates programme: Covers specialities, presentations and conditions included within the Internal Medicine Training (IMT) curriculum. Within these, we aim to cover topics from a range of clinical settings including the acute medical take, outpatients department, community care and critical care.
Topics are covered in monthly updates between September and June of each academic year, and each session consists of three 30-minute presentations.
Target audience: Although aimed primarily at medical trainees, Evening Medical Updates are open to all hospital doctors, GPs, other healthcare professionals, and medical students.
Delegates are able to submit questions via Slido and we will cover as many questions as possible during the live session.
Attendance options:
- Online from home, with on-demand access, or
- In-person from a participating live-link site (block-booking is not available for live-link site attendance, to attend at a live-link site please book each individual EMU separately).
Registering to view online from home also allows you to catch-up at your convenience on-demand for up to 28 days following the original broadcast.

Cancellation policy
If you have to cancel your place within 4 days of 27 September 2026, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund.
Evening Medical Updates are available to view on catch-up for 28 days after the live event, therefore, there is still an opportunity to view the talks if you are not able to attend on the day.

Certificates
All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). To receive a CPD certificate delegates must have completed the online feedback survey. The survey will close 28 days after the original broadcast of the event, with certificates being issued shortly after this.
Certificates cannot be issued after the survey has closed.
Catch-up
Registered delegates can view each EMU on catch-up for up to 28 days following the live event. Please note that in line with Federation rules, the CPD period is 28 days from the live event. To obtain a CPD certificate you must have completed the online feedback survey within the 28 day catch-up period.
If you are unable to attend an event live but would like to view the event for 28 days post-event and qualify for a CPD certificate (if feedback is completed), please register before 27 September 2026 in order to be given access. It is not possible to register for catch-up viewing after the live event has taken place.
