The Scottish Thoracic Society National Trainee Symposium will be held in person at the Stirling Court Hotel on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Further event details will be announced in due course but please save the date.

Call for Abstracts

The Scottish Thoracic Society invite abstract submissions related to Audit & Quality Improvement, Research and Education & Training. Submissions are welcome from Specialty Trainees in Respiratory medicine and Thoracic surgery, IMT/CST/CMT doctors, foundation doctors and medical students with an interest in Respiratory medicine.

Please complete the submission form here; https://forms.office.com/e/UPX6PLj1F3; only submissions in this format will be considered.

The deadline for submission is 9am, Monday 17 August 2026.

Successful abstracts will be invited to present in person to give either an oral presentation or lightning talk. Authors will be notified in September 2026.

Cancellation policy

If you have to cancel your place within 14 days of this event, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund.

Further information

Certificates: All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). To receive a CPD certificate delegates must have completed the online feedback survey. The survey will close 28 days after the event at 23:59 on Monday 30 November 2026, with certificates being issued shortly after this. The survey cannot be completed after it has closed.

Arriving at the venue: Upon arrival at the University gates you should report to the visitor entrance where you will be directed to Stirling Court Hotel. At the barrier you will be requested to advise the event you are attending.

The Stirling Court Hotel offers free parking to visitors - register your parking at the hotel reception. This is offered on a first come first served basis and on busy days may be limited. A new pay and display system will now be in operation on their overspill car parks.

Photography: Photographs may be taken at this event. Photographs may be used by the Society on digital and printed publicity material. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of staff know at the registration desk.

Refund policy: If you have to cancel your place within 14 days of this event, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund.

Commercial Sponsorship: Many events are supported by commercial companies taking exhibition space. Health professionals and NHS Managers are invited to visit the company stands during the breaks.
