This year's Scottish Thoracic Society Annual Meeting will be held in person at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on Tuesday 12 May 2026. Please note it is not possible to attend this event online.
Join us for an educational day including updates from expert speakers on all things lung infections. There are also opportunities to submit your work for a chance to present at the event, please find further details below.
Topics include:
- Bronchiectasis with focus on PCD
- Non tuberculous mycobacteria
- Fungal infections
- Surgical interventions in lung infections

Call for Submissions
The Scottish Thoracic Society invite abstract submissions related to Audit & Quality Improvement, Research, Education & Training and Case Reports. Submissions are welcome from any healthcare professionals and medical students with an interest in Respiratory medicine.
Please complete the submission form below; only submissions in this format will be considered.
The deadline for submissions is 9am, Friday 13 March 2026.

Successful abstracts will be invited to present in person. Prizes, including the Methven prize for best spoken presentation, will be awarded on the day. Authors will be notified by April 2026.

If you wish your employer/organisation to be invoiced for this event, please contact the event coordinator. Payment via invoice is not available for online booking.
Cancellation policy
If you have to cancel your place within 14 days of this event, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund.
Certificates
To receive a CPD certificate delegates must have completed the online feedback survey. The survey will close 28 days after the event on 8 June 2026, with certificates being issued shortly after this.
Please note, only delegates who complete the survey before it closes will receive a CPD certificate.
Joining us at RCPE
Photography: A photographer may be in attendance at this event. Photographs may be used by the Society on digital and printed publicity material. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of staff know at the registration desk.
Access: A wheelchair lift and internal lift are in place at the College, allowing access to the conference centre and historic rooms. However, as a listed building, there are some meeting rooms that have restricted access. For further information and assistance, please contact the event coordinator responsible for the event.
