This webinar starts at 17:00pm India Time/11:30am UK Time
Life expectancy is increasing globally, including in India, and there is now a need more than ever for health care professionals to be aware of the various and often complex problems of senior citizens.
This International Medical Update (IMU) aims to discuss several important issues related to the health of senior citizens, including:
- Heart Failure - focussing on the global burden of the disease, aetiology in senior citizens alongside management techniques, and how comprehensive geriatric and cardiac assessment with the involvement of a multi-disciplinary team can improve outcomes and reduce hospitalisation
- Insomnia - covering clinical evaluation, differential diagnosis, evidence based management strategies, and how insomnia can be a marker of broader health decline in older adults
- Falls - looking at the various causes, prevention and management alongside tests for functional assessment and the importance of the multi-disciplinary approach
- Nutrition - considering how local dietary factors are contributing towards the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and how diet can be modified to prevent and reduce the disease burden
By attending this IMU you will update your knowledge in some of the most common and practical issues within Geriatric Medicine globally, which will be directly applicable to your clinical practice.
Open to all grades and specialties.
