RCPE in Association with The Society of Bedside Medicine

This webinar is designed to reinvigorate and enhance bedside clinical skills for educators and learners alike. The event will feature expert speakers from the Society of Bedside Medicine, covering crucial topics such as using a hypothesis-driven approach to the physical examination, effective feedback techniques, innovative teaching tools, and optimizing bedside communication for person-centered care. Participants will gain valuable insights and practical strategies to improve their bedside teaching and clinical skills, ultimately facilitating better patient care and medical education outcomes.

At the end of this session, participants should:

  • Endorse that doing a hypothesis-driven physical examination is essential to achieving the highest quality of clinical care.
  • Have greater confidence in giving feedback and preparing learners to receive feedback.
  • Plan to use specific tools for bedside teaching - the 5-Minute Moment and 10-Minute Moment.
  • Review approaches to prepare teachers, learners, and patients for optimal person-centered care and learning at the bedside.

Target audience: Anyone who teaches and/or learns clinical skills at the bedside
