The Recently Appointed Consultants (RAC) are those in their first 10 years as a consultant and the Committee, created to support you, have two elected seats on Council, currently held by Drs Marion Slater (Geriatrician, Aberdeen) and Patrick Byrne (Consultant & GP, Fort William).

How can the Committee support you?

The Committee work to develop content which can support those clinicians beginning their careers as consultants or who would like to further their own education and development.

The work of the Committee has included the creation of top tips on topics discussed at previous RAC events such as becoming an examiner, complaints and SPA time.

Mentoring has been highlighted as important need for consultants and the Committee has been instrumental in developing the Enhance mentoring programme now available for free to all Fellows and Members in the UK and overseas.
