We are delighted to inform you that the next SSP event will be taking place on Thursday 18 & Friday 19 September 2025. This year's event will be held at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The 2025 event will be organised by Professor Jesse Dawson and registrations for the event will be released in due course.

Membership of the SSP is £20 per year payable by standing order and offers a number of great benefits which include:

  • Eligibility for election to Committee
  • Eligibility for Grants and Fellowships (dependent upon a successful application)
  • Travelling Fellowships and sabbatical grants are available to Physicians working within a hospital setting in General Medicine or a related sub-speciality.
  • Subscription to the Scottish Medical Journal

Certificates: All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). To receive a CPD certificate delegates must have completed the online feedback survey. The survey will close 28 days after the event on the Thursday 16 October, with certificates being issued shortly after this.

Certificates cannot be issued after the survey has closed. 

Commercial Sponsorship: Many events are supported by commercial companies taking exhibition space. Health professionals and NHS Managers are invited to visit the company stands during the breaks. Companies interested in sponsoring this, or other events listed on our event pages should contact the event coordinator.
