Biographical information:
Graduated from the Medical School, Trinity College, Dublin (MB BCh BAO 1984). Completed internship in Dublin then SHO & Registrar rotations in the UK. MRCP(UK), FRCP(Edin), FRCP(Lon). Appointed Consultant Physician, National Centre for Diabetes & Endocrinology & Teaching Staff, Medical School, Tripoli University, Tripoli, Libya in 1991. Co-founder & President, Libyan Association for Diabetes & Endocrinology. One of the founders of the Libyan Board of Medical Specialties in 1997 & Executive Editor of the launch edition of its Medical Journal. Co-author of the first book on diabetes for patients in Libya. Member of the Committee that published the first National Libyan Guidelines for Diabetes in 2009.
Interests include local epidemiology of diabetes and its complications, insulin analogs & cardiovascular aspects of diabetes.
Hobbies are citrus fruit farming, scuba diving and playing squash.
