Dr Jacqui Mok

Jacqui Mok came to Edinburgh from Malaysia as a schoolchild in 1968 and graduated in medicine top of her year, with the Ettles Prize, in 1974. In this interview she tells of her early years and discusses some of the issues relating to combining motherhood with a career in hospital medicine. With her MRCP, MD and multiple papers behind her she became a consultant paediatrician and discusses her pioneering role in community paediatrics confronting the HIV epidemic and then addressing the issue of training paediatricians in identification and management of child abuse.
