The King’s Somaliland Partnership (KSP) includes all King’s Health Partner contributions including volunteers from the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital and King’s College London. Since 2002 over 120 clinical volunteers (including doctors, nurses, midwives, psychologists, occupational therapists, hospital managers and researchers) have been to Somaliland on over 300 teaching trips. The focus of educational support has been faculty development, clinical leadership, midwifery, nursing, pharmacy, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, mental health and paediatrics.

KSP provides educational support through a masters programme in Health Professions Education, short term teaching trips, longer term clinical placements and distance learning for healthcare workers in Somaliland via www.medicineafrica.com.

We work with funding from the SPHEIR programme of the UK Department for International Development.
