Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and discover the central role that animals have played in the history of medicine.

Hear from our specialists, including Dr Mary Fraser and Prof Simon Girling - Head of Veterinary Services to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.

Explore the history of diagnosing patients based on which mammal they looked like as well as the medicinal uses of beavers, herrings and 'unicorn' horns. The College's fascinating collections of medical objects and early texts will show the multifaceted relationship between animals and medicine from the 1400s to the present day.
