The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) is seeking to recruit an experienced software developer / programmer to join our expanding in-house IT Team. Main responsibilities will include carrying out software development, application updates and database maintenance to a number of bespoke and off-the -shelf software applications that are used to support business activities related to our membership (12,000 worldwide) and other commercial services.

Development skills required include developing Windows applications (essential), PHP (desirable) and Delphi (desirable). Database skills required include MySQL, MSSQL and MySQLAnywhere.  Good understanding of HTML, CSS, PHP, web standards, accessibility and JavaScript to support our webmaster, and a moderate understanding of Linux and Apache is also desirable. Working as part of a small team, the successful applicant will be required to be flexible and willing to provide cover for our IT network systems and desktop support, as we expand and undertake an ambitious IT programme.
