Vacancy: Education Manager

Maternity Cover Fixed Term Contract 12 months

The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) is seeking to recruit an Education Manager to cover maternity leave (12 months) in the College’s Department of Education, Training and Assessment.

With a worldwide reputation for educational excellence, RCPE exists to promote the highest standards of patient care. One of the ways we do this is through our programme of education to support current and future doctors, particularly hospital doctors (physicians). This role is ideal for someone early in their career or keen to embark on a new career in the delivery of educational events, and would like to work within a friendly and motivated team with opportunities for development. The Role

This role primarily provides management of delivery for a range of face to face, hybrid and online educational events across the year.

The Education Manager leads a team of Education Co-ordinators and Assistants who are responsible for the successful delivery of continuing professional development for medical professionals in the UK and Internationally.

This is a full-time role based at the College on Queen Street, Edinburgh [although an element of hybrid working is available]. Hours of work are 35 per week, normally 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday inclusive. There are regular occasions when it is necessary to work outside normal office hours in order to support educational events, or committee meetings and a system of TOIL is in place to accommodate this.

The Person:

The Education Manager will have experience of leading a team and working with different stakeholders. They will be enthusiastic with a positive attitude and interest in education and event support. Good communication and IT/digital skills are essential as well as meticulous attention to detail and the ability to process information. With a large and varied education programme to support, any candidate must be able to manage potentially conflicting priorities, remain calm under pressure and be an excellent team player.

Remuneration Package

The salary for this role will be £43,722 per annum plus benefits.  Additional benefits include:
