I undertook my training in Clinical Oncology in South Africa’s University of Witwatersrand and College of Medicine. I gained good hands-on experience but not a great deal of exposure to internal medicine.
I currently work in my home country at the University of Malawi College of Medicine. My role involves clinical work along with clinical teaching and training.
I was attracted to further my training in Edinburgh as the University has an excellent reputation in clinical training. In addition to this, the flexible nature of the course fits in well with my busy schedule.
The attainment of this MSc will be of great benefit to the patients I care for and to the Department of Medicine. In my capacity as clinical lecturer, the MSc will allow me to be increasingly effective as I train and mentor students.
Furthermore, this training will sharpen my skills in research and support me in improving overall service delivery within University of Malawi College of Medicine.
