Regional Symposia
In addition to our events based in Edinburgh, the RCPE organises a number of
annual and biennial regional symposia throughout the UK. Regional symposia
are led by our Regional Advisers and Fellows and Members local to each area. A
wide range of topics in acute and general medicine, as well as updates on hot
topics and the medical specialties, are covered.
All grades of medical, nursing, scientific,
and allied health professional staff and
medical students are most welcome,
and you do not need to be a Fellow or
Member of the RCPE to attend.
This is also an opportunity to hear about
the key issues in medicine from Professor
Derek Bell, President of the RCPE.

Evening Medical Updates & EVENING MEETINGS
Evening Medical Updates
Organised by our Trainees and Members’ Committee and free to attend, the
2015–2016 Evening Medical Update (EMU) programme follows the ‘Top Medical
Presentations’ and ‘Emergency Presentations’ as defined in the General Internal
Medicine (GIM) training curriculum. The 26 topics are covered in a rolling
programme, with monthly updates between September and June. The updates
are primarily aimed at trainees but they are open to all hospital doctors, GPs,
healthcare professionals, medical students at any stage of their career and any
other medical professional with an interest in the topic.

transmitted live to more than 80 sites
around the UK and internationally. Please
