    • Gordon, John
    • John Gordon of Cluny held the Weymouth and Melcombe Regis constituency from 1826-1832. Gordon purchased land in Shiels and Midmar near Cluny, and the islands of Benbecula, South Uist and Barra in the Hebrides. He was criticized for the treatment of his Hebridean tenants. Gordon died with no legitimate issue, but had multiple illegitimate children, one of which survived him.

    • James Murray Grant Esq. of Glenmoriston was born in 1792, the son of Lt Col John Grant, 9th of Glenmoriston and Elizabeth Townsend Grant. He was descended from one of the sons of John Grant of Freuchie, who was granted the Barony of Glenmoriston from King James IV in 1509. He married Henrietta Cameron in October 1813 and died in August 1868. He had one son, Patrick Grant.
