William Spink

William Spink was born in Dundee in 1746, the son of Andrew Spink, a tobacco smuggler. After earning his MD from St Andrews he joined the East India Company, working as a ship's surgeon before settling in Bombay, now Mumbai, where he lived until his death in 1798.
