History of Medicine Grants and Prizes

Our history grant and prize support new research into the history of medicine.

Both the Physicians' Collections Research Grant and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh History of Medicine Prize are funded through the generosity of the Joyce Grainger Charitable Trust.

Physicians’ Collections Research Grant

The Physicians’ Collections Research Grant aims to encourage new research into, and engagement with, the College's library and archive collections. The recipient is expected to share their research with the public through a variety of channels.

Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh History of Medicine Award

The purpose of this award is to support and develop the study of the history of medicine in Scotland, and to promote the use of the library, archive and heritage object collections held by the College.
