William Robertson Logan

William Robertson Logan studied at the University of Edinburgh, graduating MB ChB in 1909 and MD in 1913. During the First World War he was Officer in Charge of the laboratory at the 42nd General Hospital, Salonica, researching dysentery and disease among Allied troops. After the war he obtained a Diploma in Public Health from the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and practised clinical bacteriology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. He was Vice-President and Secretary of the Section of Pathology and Bacteriology of the British Medical Association in 1927. His publications include 'Reports of the M. and H. Laboratories Dealing with the Diseases Affecting the Troops in the Dardanelles' (1916) and 'Study of Pneumococcus and Streptococcus Groups in Their Relation to Influenza' (1921).
