William Milsted Harmer, was proprietor of North Grove House Private Asylum in Hawkhurst, Kent. He studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen and followed his untrained father into the family business. After North Grove House was destroyed by fire, the asylum was relocated to Red House, Tonbridge, which Harmer ran until his death in 1895. He also served as Surgeon-Captain in the 2nd East Kent Volunteer Battalion.
