William Maxton

William Maxton was awarded an MD from the University of St Andrews on 22 September 1804. He served with the Army Medical Service as hospital mate from 1799, as assistant surgeon from 1800 and as surgeon from 1801. He was admitted a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1799, a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 2 November 1813, and was elected a Fellow on 1 February 1814. He died at Berhampore, India, on 12 July 1821.
