William Macleod

William Macleod received his medical degree from the University of St Andrews on 2 May 1843. From 1846 he served as resident physician at Ben Rhydding Hydropathic Hospital in Yorkshire, applying contemporary theories of nutrition to hydropathic treatment. His publications include observations on blood corpuscle development in the chick and 'Hydrotherapeutics, or the Water Cure' (1855). He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 1 August 1843.
