William James Tivy

William James Tivy received medical training at Queen's College Cork, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1873, was elected a Fellow of the former in 1879 and of the latter in 1884. He served as a Surgeon in the Royal Navy and was active in the ambulance movement. He published several works, including 'The Pathology and Treatment of Lateral Curvature of the Spine'. He died in Bristol in 1910.
