William George Aitchison Robertson

William George Aitchison Robertson was born circa 1865, the son of solicitor James Aitchison Robertson. He studied at the University of Edinburgh, earning a BSc in Public Health in 1889 and an MD in 1890, for which he was awarded a gold medal. In the same year he became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and was elected a Fellow in 1891. He was awarded a Doctorate of Science in 1892. He practised in Edinburgh, with rooms on Minto Street, and worked at the Royal Infirmary and the Royal Maternity and Simpson Memorial Hospital. He published extensively on public health and toxicology, including 'Aids to Forensic Medicine and Toxicology' (1894). After 1910 he retrained as a barrister, was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1926, and later lived in Bournemouth, where he died in 1946.
