Thomas Meik

Thomas Meik received an MD from the University of St Andrews on the proposal of James Lind. He became an army physician and by 1779 was Physician to the Garrison at Portsmouth, a post he held for thirty-nine years. He is recorded as treating Thomas Jefferson's daughter during her journey to Paris in 1784. Meik died at Portsmouth in June 1811.
