Thomas Laycock

Thomas Laycock was born in Yorkshire and served an apprenticeship to a surgeon before undertaking medical study at University College London. He obtained MRCS in 1835 and later studied in Paris and Gottingen, graduating MD with commendation in 1839. After general practice in York, he was appointed lecturer on the theory and practice of medicine at the York Medical School.
