Thomas Hill Pattison

Thomas Hill Pattison was born in Loanhead, Midlothian, on 29 September 1809 and graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh on 12 July 1831. After naval service with the East India Company, he practised in Edinburgh and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 6 November 1849. Pattison was a founder and later President of the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society and endowed a bursary for medical education.
