Thomas Hayes Jackson

Thomas Hayes Jackson was born in 1810 and trained at St Thomas's and Guy's Hospitals, London. He obtained his MD from Erlangen in 1854 and practised medicine in Darlington. He was active in local societies, including the Newcastle and Gateshead Pathological Society, and became Senior Consulting Surgeon at Darlington Hospital. He published widely on surgery and anaesthesia and on miners' health, including 'Diseases of miners of Arkendale and Swaledale' in the British Medical Journal. He died in Darlington in 1869.
