Thomas Chambers became a Licentiate of the College in 1860, having trained at The London Hospital and in Edinburgh, and was elected a Fellow in 1875. In 1871 he was one of the founders, alongside James Aveling and others, of the Chelsea Hospital for Women, where he served as one of its first Senior Physicians. He also acted as Consulting Physician to the Western Dispensary, Westminster. His publications include 'Retroflexion of uterus with hemiplegia', published in the British Medical Journal in 1872, and 'Bismuth and Swiss milk in infantile diarrhoea', published in The Lancet in 1871.
