Robert Freer

Robert Freer was born in Perthshire circa 1745 and received an MA from King's College, Aberdeen, in 1765. After military service he received an MD from King's College in 1779 and settled in Glasgow, becoming Regius Professor of the Practice of Medicine in 1796. He served repeatedly as physician to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, was a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of London, and President of the Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow from 1797 to 1800. He died in 1827.
