Richard Hawley

Richard Hawley studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh from 1803 to 1806 and qualified MD in 1807, publishing his dissertation 'Dissertatio physiologica inauguralis de fonte caloris animalium pulmonibus instructorum'. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1827. Hawley published a range of medical texts and was an extraordinary member of the Royal Medical Society.
