Ralph Richardson

Ralph Richardson was born in Cheshire and lived from about 1812 to 1898. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh and graduated MD in 1834, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1835. He also studied for an MA at Trinity College Dublin. In 1839 Richardson travelled to New Zealand for several years due to his wife's poor health. The family later returned to the UK and settled in Devon. In 1873 he published 'The Simplicity of Life: an Introductory Chapter' and republished it with revisions in 1879 as 'The Nature of Life: an Introductory Chapter'.
