Lewis Hay Frederick Thatcher graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1910 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1913. He worked in Edinburgh as Clinical Assistant in Medicine at the Royal Infirmary, Assistant Physician at the Edinburgh Lying-In Institute, and Resident Physician at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. His publication includes 'Tylosis Palmaris et Plantaris' (1912).
