Leo Ferdinando Bianchi

Leo Ferdinando Bianchi was born in Tunbridge Wells in March 1865. Educated at St Augustine's College, Ramsgate, and HMS Worcester, he served as a midshipman in the Royal Naval Reserve and with the Hooghly Bengal Pilot Service. Retiring on health grounds, he later studied medicine in Edinburgh, qualifying LRCS Edin and LRFP&S Glas in 1904. He served as Non-Resident House Physician at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and practised in Joppa and Portobello. He died in Portobello on 17 January 1929.
