Joseph Marcus Joseph received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow on 28 April 1852 and was one of only six Jewish medical graduates of the university between 1767 and 1859. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 4 August 1857 and was granted a diploma.
