John William Simpson

John William Simpson was educated at Dollar Academy, Clackmannanshire, before studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated MB in 1896 and MD in 1906. He specialised in diseases of children and published several articles on the subject, including 'Guide to the Feeding of the Infant in the First Years'. He was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1900 and elected a Fellow in 1903. He was appointed Extra Physician to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. He died in 1921.
