John Tomlynson Ingleby

John Tomlinson Ingleby was born circa 1795 and received his MD from Heidelberg on 28 May 1838. He began practising medicine in Birmingham in 1816 and became an early specialist in obstetrics, lecturing on midwifery at Queen's College, Birmingham. Ingleby served as President of the Medical Benevolent Society in 1836 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 6 November 1838. He died in 1845 and the Ingleby Lectures were later established in his memory.
