John Thornton Duncan

John Thornton Duncan trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1877. He became a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1880 and a Fellow in 1886. He worked as a Surgeon at several hospitals, including Swansea General Hospital and Truesdale's Hospital in Stamford, Lincolnshire. He also served as Medical Officer and Public Vaccinator to the Stamford Union. A Justice of the Peace for Stamford, he served as Mayor in 1886 till 1887.
