John Shaw Steel

John Shaw Steel received his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen on 7 April 1854. He served as physician to the Carlisle Fever Hospital and as assistant surgeon to the Royal Jersey Militia Artillery. Steel became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1843 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 5 December 1855.
