John Murray

John Murray was born in 1798. He studied medicine at Aberdeen and graduated MD on 5 February 1825, having been apprenticed to surgeon John Aitkin of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Murray was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 2 August 1825 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in November 1826. He later settled in Melbourne, Australia, and died on 4 June 1873.
