John Macmillan

John Macmillan was educated at the University of St Andrews, graduating MA, and later at the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated BSc in Natural Science in 1879. He worked as a teacher at Perth Academy and the Edinburgh Academy before returning to study, gaining a BSc in Public Health in 1894. He was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1895 and elected a Fellow the following year. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society, and later lectured in medical jurisprudence. He died in Edinburgh in 1913.
